Location: Kinston, NC | aluminum or wood floor (pressure treated) work fine as long as you properly clean it (remove mats, wash, let dry, replace mats). Conversely, both are worthless if you don't properly clean it. Horse urine can eat through both materials over time. since the trailer i'm considering is aluminum and floor is diamond plate under the mats, i'm assuming it too is aluminum. Is a metal floor a good thing? You didn't say whether your trailer was an all aluminum or a hybrid. Is the diamond plate aluminum or steel? Regardless, as Bartley stated, proper maintenance will ensure a long life span. No maintenance will drastically shorten its serviceability. There are specific chores that both materials will require, some are less involved than others. When correctly maintained, almost any floor will out live the trailer. Gard |
