| I was thinking I saw a thread on truck batteries here recently (well, two or three months ago - four?) Anyway, I couldn't find one in a search so here goes.Pretty much like the caption says. I have a 2005 Ford 6.0 diesel - Club Cab, long bed, not dually. I pull a steel 3 horse slant with weekend package and am probably going to get a camper trailer, possibly a pretty large one. We are checking the batteries but I expect to have to replace both. I currently have a Costco membership if that helps.Which batteries do you recommend?Thank you. |

Location: Florida | I put a pair of Exide in ours earlier this year. Actually got them from Menards during one of their 11% sales - which is back on again this week. |

Location: western PA | There are many good brands from which to choose, and pricing from your local dealers, should find many batteries within the same price range. Your truck is equipped with size 65 batteries. What you want to purchase, are batteries within that size, that offer the highest storage rating and best warranty. There are many batteries within that size that offer 850 - 875 CCAs, (cold cranking amps), and have an 80 month warranty, with a free three year replacement. Where you buy is important if you ever need maintenance. A break down on the road late at night or during a holiday, might not find your retailer open. A 24 / 7 chain will become most helpful. Make sure when you purchase your batteries, to obtain two new ones of the same manufacturer, the same specifications and part number. |

Location: mancelona michigan | Ive been putting wal mart batteries in all my vehicles and trailers for7 or 8 yrs now. They have the 3 yr free replacement, which Ive never needed, and wal-mart is everywhere,so finding a retailer to change one out at 7pm sunday isnt a problem. The ones in my ford 7.3 are going on 5 yrs old now and are still fine.I was told on another forum they are rebadged excide. |

| Thank you very much! I've seen so many references to Menards over the years, but we don't have them here. It sounds like a good place.Walmart is where I often get batteries for my cars, but just wanted to make sure on the truck. I did read on a truck forum where they talked about red top, blue top and yellow top. I never made a choice between those in the past. Thanks for the help! |
