Does anyone tow a gooseneck with half ton pickup? We have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with active suspension and tow package. Have used it to pull 31 foot RV with no problem. Looking at a 3horse aluminum with empty trailer weight of 5080 lbs. Truck is rated to pull 7700 lbs (so yes, we will be bumping that ceiling.) Has anyone tried this?

An RV is NOT a horse trailer...and yes you'll be pushing the limit...in fact, when you are fully loaded you'll be over...

I wouldn't recommend that if the trailer empty is 5000lb and you figure 3 horses equal about 3000+/- plus all your tack, any feed or hay, water, clothes, passengers, plus any other extras you might take along. You will be beyond overloaded.

Very helpful thread. I found it after posting though...
I'm sure the towing question is asked repeatedly.
Thanks!
