I haven't been on here in a while. If any of you remember me buying an 2005 Duramax, getting the tranny fixed now and very disappointed with all of its problems. But keeping it and we are looking at F 450's maybe the 5-6 year old range. Does anyone here have any helpful information on the motor and other areas? Thank you so much.

Other than plan on 8 mpg loaded it if is going to be a stock truck and 10 to 12 unloaded driving easy.... Fuel mileage is poor on most of these trucks stock for some reason.

Buying a used Duramax can be a crapshoot...especially if the previous owner had "chipped" it...too much HP can terminate an Allison transmission earlier than it should...
