Hi All,

I'm wanting to find a place to trail ride around Columbia Missouri to the Kansas border. I'm considering purchasing a horse from a friend but wanted take it riding first. I'm coming from SE Iowa and Columbia, Mo is about half way for us. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey; if you are coming from up north, why not go to some good trails? like 4-J Big Piney, Cuivre River trail, look on horse trails here online.... there are a lot of them.

I'm taking 2 1/2 weeks vacation in the fall, one going to the 4J and the other to High Knob. I'm limited on vacation time left so needed more of a weekend place to do a test ride. I'm just 12 miles from the Missouri border so Columbia's about 3 hours away and the other party is from Kansas so Columbia would have been about half way.Did find on horsetraildirectory.com a place around Sedalia, Mo. Von Holten Ranch that'd probably work. Just looking for if someone had a place to recommend or if maybe someone has gone to the Von Holten Ranch. Thanks

Von Holten ranch would be a great spot, nice camping, arena and river to ride in. Trails are ok, they are improving all the time. Brandy and David are great people.
