I have a girlfriend that drives a 1/2 ton Dodge.  It is her daily driver.  She would love to have a gooseneck trailer with a weekender package, but doesn't want to get a larger vehicle for towing.  So, she plans to purchase a 2-horse slant bumper pull with a small rear tack along with the front tack area.

My question is:  Has anyone set up the front portion of a bumper pull so that it can be used for staying overnight comfortably?  I'm thinking all the conveniences of a regular weekender package but in space efficient, smaller terms.  With all the tiny house craze going on, I would think this could be done.  I'm thinking a small, rooftop AC unit and a twin size bed that is wall mounted and can be dropped down when needed.  Has anyone done this?  Any suggestions?

One of the issues you have to take into consideration is tongue weight...the more stuff you put in the tack area of that trailer, the faster you could go over the tongue weight...

I have a BP with 3 1/2' LQ.

We weighed it at a Cat scale, and calculated tongue weight. For my 1/2 ton Tundra, I am at max for tongue weight with two horses.

It pulls well. A/C, bunk beds, walk-through door, fridge, stove, electric awning....

Well, let's just say this is my retirement trailer and I put all the bells and whistles into it.

So yes it can be done.

If you are a seller you need to contact Dave about advertising rather than advertising on every thread...

What does she want in the weekender? Is she looking for just sleeping or ammenities? THere is a great site on FB called Horse Trailer Conversions II....and there is also one for specifically bumper pulls...sorry, do not know the name...Those peeps have tons of pics and info.

But it boils down to $$ and what she wants.
