Location: WI | I need new electric brake assemblys. Mine are wore out. The local dealer swears by Dexter brand. My question is, are lesser priced brands just as good? I can order online for a fair amount cheaper. Cost is a major concern as I'm tight on cash these days. Thanks |

Location: Zionsville, Indiana | Dexter has a 5 year warranty. The imports usually have none. That said, warranty doesn't cover wear, only defects in manufacturing. |

Location: Los Angeles, Ca. | EBAY has most of them very reasonably priced. Don't get the cheaper knock-offs. Easiest is to buy the whole assembly and not just the shoes. |

Location: White Pine, TN | Dexter is the only brand we will install. We know what we are getting and so will the customer. |

Location: Zionsville, Indiana | We too only install Dexter. Now that Dexter has acquired Alko, Tie Down, etc. we assume (hopefully correctly) that the Dexter standard of quality will soon be applied to the majority of suspension and brake parts available. We do sell the imports as parts, but with the caveat that there is no warranty. |

Location: western PA | You can purchase the Dexter brake assys on Ebay with free shipping for very reasonable pricing. Purchase the whole assemblies with new backing plates and all new hardware. They are easy to install and are a direct replacement . Everything you need is already preassembled and only needs a few bolts to affix them to the axle and a wire splice for the electrical connection.. Once installed, you will have many years of troule free opperation. The Dexter brand is well known and it's OEM reputation is well above foreign knock offs. ?While you are changing the brakes, it's a good time to replace the grease seals and wheel bearings. With these changes, there is nothing further that will need replacement or repair about the axles, for many years of service.. |

Location: North Carolina | I've had the same experience. Complete Dexter backing plates with shoes, magnets, etc. are the best deal on E-bay. You could spend $35 for brake shoes alone or get the whole plate for $50 each wheel.
I would solder and shrink tube each connection though. Water & vibration will make connections a major headache after a while.
