Location: Boscobel WI | Just bought a trailer with elec. over hydraulic brakes the brakes seem to work fine but when you let off the brake pedal it is like the brakes stick on for about 45 seconds. I called ausco with question and they told me they dont make the units anymore so they didnt have anyone that could help me. So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these systems or someone to call. Thanks Jim |

Location: Zionsville, Indiana | If it turns out that you need a new Ausco actuator (the part on the trailer) we have one. It could also be cannibalized for parts if needed. Your brakes should release instantly when you take your foot off the pedal. |

Location: Texas | Check the return springs on the pads. They could be worn or sticking. Might be a simple fix. If the springs are good and the pads are not sticking, you might flush the lines. If the fluid is old and dirty, it could be plugging the return port in your actuator.

Location: Texas | When you remove your foot from the brake, does the pump in the actuator immediately quit running? If so, see above suggestions. If the pump continues to run, check your brake controller to see if it is hanging up and not relesing when the brake pedal is released. |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | The "thump" can happen with different types of controllers, and not with others. We were told it was where the controller was pinging the system looking for a connection. Most customers who had this combination, would unplug the trailer when parked, if the controller didn't shut down automatically after a period of time (like the Prodigys do if the brake pedal isn't touched in a while). |

Location: Norman, Ok | Many delayed release problems can be traced to a kinked brake line. The actuator applies up to 1500 psi when braking but relies on much lower back pressure to release the brakes. |
