So thinking about getting a generator for house, that can also be used for overnight camping with horse trailer. We have a 96 sundowner 4h gn. How much generally does it cost to wire one for a few outlets, maybe a fridge and maybe an ac? Or is it cheaper to go with a conversion place and have them do the whole inside? And can anyone recommend a place in the southeast (close-ish to NC) to take it to to wire? TIA

Do you have a horse trailer or RV dealer near you? ?This type of deal could be as simple as a breaker box and a couple outlets for a few hundred dollars to a $1500 ac unit install, wiring etc... If the trailer is bare inside it wont cost much for the basics, someone is going to have to look at it to give you a price. Many RV dealers will have a used ac unit and the capability of installing it with a minimal breaker panel and a couple outlets.

Do get a quiet genset. Otherwise neighbors camped next to you will be very glad to see you leave. The Honda inverter sets are the gold standard. Yamaha is very close for sound levels.
