Hi - I have a new Lakota LQ.  I was prepping it tonight for our first show this weekend.   I wanted to make sure the furnace was working properly because it going to be very cold this weekend.   After a few minutes, the smoke alarm went off.  I opened the door and cleared the air and it went off.   Shut the down and 10 minutes later it went off again.  Any ideas why?   I didn't think the smoke alarm should go off unless there was actual smoke, which there was not.  The carbon detector did not go off - just the smoke alarm.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Probably because it is a new unit......oils on the metals from the mfg. process remain until burned off....usually only takes 5-10 minutes before it clears up. If it continues, take it back to dealer for inspection.

I agree with the above poster.  We normally run the furnaces for an hour as part of our PDI process to clear anything through the lines.  If it persists you probably have a faulty smoke detector.  Thad
