This is crazy and I am so upset!  I went to 4 dealers today in a town 30 minutes from here and all they offered in tires were "Carliles, and Some off brand I have never heard of"  They said there is NOT a name brand tire that I can get with this size and tread that is American Made (insisting I have to go with China made cheap tires)!  225-750-R15 - 10 ply! I have a friend in Kansas and am thinking about driving to there to get frick'en tires!  Tell me about Hercules brand!

I am probably driving you guys crazy, but I have to vent or I am going to explode, I need to find some tires.....and within the next two weeks!

A 225/75R-15 is one of the most common size tires made so you shouldn't have a problem getting them in a name brand. Now being it's a common size for a half ton pick up they may not have them in the load range you need but in just a 6ply or load C. Not sure why 4 dealers would all have the same brand? The laod range D carries 2500 pds each on the goodyr I just looked up. I am guessing that is plenty and you will have a tough time getting load range E in that size tire. Is your size a 75 or 750? not sure if that was a typo. A 750 will be harder to come accross
I agree with you, I couldn't believe that all dealers carried the same tires, but they all told me that this tire size 225-75-R15 ST is very limited! I would like a 10 ply tire and that is what I have been asking for, so I assume that is a D range tire (?). I can't say that I am the best to check tire pressure every trip and that I will drive 65 (more like 70), I am just wanting a 'frick'en' tire that will not blow out every time I hit the hot/holey roads of Arkansas, Oklahoma(especially Oklahoma holes on I-40)and Texas!So every dealer Goodyear, Arkansas Tire Company, Firestone, Michelin, Cooper, and China tires all only told me they could get Carlile or BF something (China Tire) is all they could get me! Have you ever heard of "Hercules" brand?

Slow down and read the previous posts.... Load range "D" is 8 ply. Load range "E" is 10 ply. You're not apt to find a ST225-75R15 load range "E" 10 ply tire.... in the USA, China, Mars or anywhere else. Now, Hercules is a "Private Brand" tire. They dont build they're own tires, they buy from other builders and have the Hercules name molded onto the sidewall. Here's some info on different builder/suppliers to Hercules and the codes on the tire so you can distinguish the difference.

Kumho (P, HP, LTR, MTR, MTLP)
Woosung (P, LTR), Modi (MTB)

China Tire (flotation-farm, LTB, MTB

I am just now learning about range tires! Should I say, I have ask for 10 ply in that size and so far they have only given me two choices from all the dealers I have been too (6 now)! I am so glad you gave me info on the Hercules tire. I am sorry that I do not understand "all" the LTB, MTB........ I really thought that when I walked into a dealer and said this is what 'I would like to have' they would help me! I have been treated like a step child, rudely dumped on and basically said I need to listen to them because I don't know anything'....which was true until now, I am learning. I do know that I do not want a terribly made tire, a 10 ply if possible, my size that is needed, and a good build tire that withstand heat and weight! I did have a man tell me at one of the tire shops that, "I can buy a cheaper China tire and if I had a blow out it would not be his tires, that it would be my axle or something wrong with the trailer and that is why so many horse trailers blow out tires!' that was after I ask about warranties on tires and was politely told no warranties on any tires anymore!

If you stick with what your trailer came with which sounds like an 8ply load range D you should have more luck finding what your after. They possible do not offer a 10Ply because you probably would go up in axle size and wheel size for the extra weight. You may be making it harder than need be.

 Yes Mam....I am making it harder that it should be!  I am a very deep thinker (sometimes that hinders me) but it also keeps me from making huge mistakes!  I really do not know what tires were on the trailer when it was new.  My good friend and I traded trailers, I had a LQ and she had a front tack room, I needed to down size and she wanted LQ so we traded.  I am not familiar with a smaller trailer and its tires at the moment.  I had Cooper 14 ply on my other trailer and this one ? not sure what to put on it, I am spending the $ just want to get the right tire, I really do not want to spend more $ to replace my mistake!

I will see if I can find out what origionally came on the trailer!  :)

Check the serial number data plate, most of the time it will have the factory tire size and axle weight capacity, etc..... It will look something like these...

<script> window.setTimeout("watermark()",50);

<script> window.setTimeout("watermark()",50);

Thats what I was afraid of.  I did find a website though that still has them in stock.   Tires-easy.com.  I just ordered a set.  They dont have much left in Denmans though.
