Suggestions for brands that have great reputations & light weight in a 2 horse, straight, ramp with 8 - 10' LQ?

Thanks I really appreciate & trust the info I get on this forum.

It may be lightweight overall, but a 2H straightload with large dress or LQ is a recipe for a horribly high tongueweight rig, as the axles will be at the back under the horses. Pull like a tank. Drove one once. No thanks on a re-ride. Don't believe there will be any brands that will overcome this issue.

Hi, you might want to look at Hawk trailers... I have a 3 horse straight with a midtack and LQ and it has worked out wonderful. I had the axles mo ved forward so tongue weight has not been a problem. The nice thing about Hawk trailers is that they can build them any which way you would like. This is the place that I ordered my trailer from. Risa has been super to work with and she is also very knowledgable. I use the trailer a lot have done many long distances and so far no problems what so ever.http://www.happytrailstrailers.com/

2H with straight load and LQ, sounds like one I know of sitting in Elkhart IN.  It's not so much a living quarter as a weekender, Dixie Star Trailer, priced around $16K.  Anytime you have an LQ you will have some weight, the one above comes with a 20gal water vs 40 gal, no bathroom and is a gooseneck.

Now for a bumper pull you ought to check out the Trail Rider Express it is awesome.  Again they are in Elkhart IN, check out www.cohorsetrailers.com

All aluminum ....small well designed Living Quarter in a straight load does work .... if you omit the ecscape doors on the horses head ... (have a walk through door to the lq) and move those axles up  you have a great pulling trailer. We have done a few and our customers are thrilled with them.

I am looking at getting a 2+1 with a LQ. I have seen them made by Merhow, Lakota and Shadow. I am sure that most manufacturers can build that. Are you looking to get the 2+1 with the box in the middle or just a 2H?
