(once in awhile I reply to an ad I find to be an obvious fraud, because  - it's fun.  This one was today, for a Ponderosa trailer and for once it was a well written ad, no grammatical errors and the seller said he was a poor soldier from Utah that was being deployed to Iraq.  They just get better and better at this, but you can still ask a few innocent questions and the answers you get . . . should be clear enough.  lol.  This gentleman's name was Christopher Farmer.  See his last response below.  My questions are in blue)

Hi, The trailer has a shoebox. In order to start the deal you have to go to the company's web site: http://www.freight-company-pvt-ltd.co.uk/ and register (it's free). After the registration is complete sign into your account and start a new transaction as a buyer. The shipping and escrow company fees will be paid by me. If you have any other questions please email me back. All best

Awesome.  Does this trailer have a shoebox?  I don't want to scratch the floor up.  All my horses wear steel shoes, and I have to remove them for long trips.

the pics are not the same because I thought you'd like to see more photos. the shipping can be done at no cost for you. the trailer will be delivered along with all the documents. As for the payment I can start a transaction through a shipping and escrow company where i'm already registered. You will have to register too and sign in to your account and start a new transaction as a buyer. They will contact us soon after and we will start the deal. They act as a third party and will protect both of us in this transaction. Email me back with your full name and shipping address if you'd like to buy the trailer. all best

Hi, The horse trailer is still for sale. It has a clear title, very well maintained, no damages, no rust or dents and no mechanical problems. I'm asking $1600 for it, non negotiable. I have to sell this horse trailer as fast as I can because in three weeks I will be in Iraq and I think I'll stay there for a while that's why I'm selling it so cheap. Currently I'm on a military base in Nevada and the trailer is here with me. I can ship for free within the US if you want to buy it. Let me know what you decide . The pics speak for themselves, You'll love the trailer, I can guarantee you that!

Specs: 2006 PONDEROSA 2 HORSE 6X16X6'6" STOCK TRAILER, 3500LB TORSION AXLES, ALL 4 WHEEL ELECTRIC BRAKES, 2" COUPLER, 15" RADIAL TIRES AND WHEELS 5 LUGS, TREATED WOOD FLOOR, REAR SWING/SLIDER GATE, CUT GATE IN MIDDLE, SIDE DOOR, VENTS, The interior height of the trailer is exactly 6'6".

WOW!!!

Thanks Dave, I never knew what that little box on the bottom of the door of the tack room in my trailer was for?

Now! Not only do my horses have to wipe their feet, but they have to take their shoes off too!

Since this reminds me of an oriental custom, are the horses going to want more rice bran in their feed?

Shoe box, huh??  I best not need one of those new fangled shoe boxes, just gave that danged farrier/preacher buddy of mine $400.00 to reset five these "show horses", (that are all out in the pasture running slipping and sliding in our "perma-thaw", mud, slop!)..... And I supplied all the shoes!!!

Funny how he and the trailer both are in Nevada and the shipping company is in ENGLAND!!

Just be sure that the shoe box has that little light that comes on when you open the lid. I hate when I can't see into my shoe box. Dang.

Is that just a plain ol' shoe box or the one with the manual shoe polisher? You have got to keep those shoes polished. I hear that there is a new automatic polisher version now too.

Oh, you don't have to buy them new fangled shoe polishers!  I was driving by this really fancy country club one day and they got deeze thangs stickin up outta da groun with a little handle on the side.  I seen some dummy had run inta one and knocked it clean over.  So I picks it up, tosses in da back uh da truck, cause eyes a good ole boy and not a red neck.  A red neck would a let it lay for somebody to run over.  So ah gits it home and starts tuh zamin this thang and sees it's a got some brushes and a little water trauff in da bottom of it.  I decides to screw it to da wall right above my little shoe box wit da hannal facin out sohs I could crank it easier and WAH LAH!!!!  Eyes gots me a brand new shoe washer polisher thinga mah bobs in mah trailer!

Life is like a box uh chocolats.  Ya never know what you gonna find next to dah road!

I wonder if this is the same scam... I received this reply when I asked about a trailer add: Cherokee 3 horse traier w/ Lg aluinum 1998 $5548

Thank you for your interest in my 1998 Cherokee horse trailer. You can see the pictures here: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/21369217
I'm located in Camp Ripley an US military base in Little Falls, Minnesota getting ready for Iraq, the trailer is here with me. If you can come pick it up would be great. If you can't, shipping is not a problem, because it's included in the price.
Address and pickup info.
Capt. John Lautner / [USASOLS] United States Army Special Operations Logistics Squadron
U.S. Army, Pacific Attn: APPA Building T100 Camp Ripley, zip: 56345-0021, MN.
In case you can't pick up, it will be shipped by plane with US Air Military Cargo because I have some connections with US Airborne Division and the shipping it will not cost you anything. The trailer will arrive the nearest airport in your area and then it will be trucked forward to your home address. It will take around 2-3 days until the trailer will be delivered to you. All documents, title and bill of sale will be provided along with the trailer.
For the payment I would like to use eBay's buyer protection plan as a third party. They will keep your money until you get the vehicle and will release it to me after the inspection period is over and you agree to keep the vehicle. To eliminate any concerns you will have 15 days to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy, eBay will release the funds to me ONLY after inspection period is over and you agree to keep the trailer. I'll start the official procedure, and eBay will contact you about this. If you are interested in buying it just mail me back with:
- Your Full Name - Required by eBay (You'll receive important guidelines + instructions from them.)
- Your Shipping Address and Phone Number - Required by the Shipping company (They will call you with delivery/pickup instructions 1 day before arrival of the trailer) Again I want to point out that because I am going to Iraq, I am looking for a fast transaction, with no delays. That is why I decided to lower the price, to avoid wasting time with negotiations and find a buyer as soon as possible.

Thanks, hope to do business with you soon!

THAT'S ONE NICE TRAILER IF IT WERE TRUE.. BUT LIKE THEY SAY... IF IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.. IT PROBABLY ISN'T... NEVER DID REPLY TO THE GUY... JUST CANT BELEIVE IT'S NOT A SCAM...

Can't say that I've ever seen a price for a trailer at $5548..

LOL...

Oh yeah, like some little pissant Captain can get a military aircraft to make a personal delivery at a commercial airport . Uh NO.

Yup.  I think you should string him along. Ask him if the trailer has the winter ski package.

Yep.. I was thinking the same thing... Hell it takes my sister 3 months to get her personal house belongings when they move around in the military...  And he has friends in Airborne... That's one big trailer to stick on the plane... No one would notice it... Ya think???

Not to mention the Airborne division is the paratroopers.  They don't land with the plane.  I don't think I'd want my trailer delivered that way.

It would cost more per hour to fly the airplane than the trailer is worth. Of course this hasn't stopped our government officials in the past, for similar deeds.
