Does anyone know of a salvage/trailer parts place to get a nice saddle rack? We purchased a used alum BP this past year and the rack had been removed. It still has the plate in the floor where it had been mounted. I called the mfr and was told a new one was about $400. I don't care what kind it is as long as the saddles don't fall off going down the road. We tried mounting some of the steel tubular ones and they aren't working very well. Any advice before spending that kind of money on a rack? Thanks. | ||

We gave up on the saddle racks this past fall... Rough interstate highways have about demolished all of ours... We put the saddles in the big quilted bags, and stack 6 bags in one wagon or cart, just stand them up on the end, withers end pointed down and stack them like dixie cups. Then we'll roll them up the ramp into the trailer... Get to the show and roll the wagons to the tack stall... Those bags are money well spent if you want to keep a saddle clean and ready to show. | ||

According to the "Saddle Boss" web site, they offer an after market pole system to fit into various trailers. It looks like a universal design. It would be a simple and inexpensive matter, to fabricate a wood design with plywood gussets on hardwood 2 bys. I don't know the price of the manufactured product.
