Does anyone know of someone who has a travel trailer they want to trade for a 3 horse slant like new trailer with living quarters. In our 60's and retiring from the horse world.

I just saw a post for this very thing! Someone wanting to trade their fifth-wheel for a horse trailer with LQ. I think I saw it in either craiglist or Bay area equestrian site. (Northern California)

We did this very trade several years ago. Post your trailer for sale but list in the details you would trade for a 5th wheel or RV. Do the same in Craigslist, and make inquiries to anyone who has anything for sale you might be interested in. We made the trade on a very vague "for sale or trade" ad and would not have known there was mutual interest if we didn't ask. You will get alot of "no thanks" but it only takes one "yes we're interested" to make the deal work.Good luck!

Hi...I see you're just a little south of Ada...not far from us. We sell both horse trailers and used RV's. We are sold out now, but we anticipate having some in the next couple weeks. I think we can work something out. Trailer Depot in Shawnee 405-214-2700.

I wish they would put a trading section on here. I would like to scale back down. I currently have the Bloomer  "big gurl" (paid ad link above) and a 4 Star 4H trailer with a weekender. My needs have changed due to health issues and I really only need one rig , not two. So, currently I have the Bloomer LQ for sale. When it sells, I will need to then upgrade the weekender to a maybe a 10 or 12 ' SW LQ. Both my trailers are paid for so it would be  easy as far as the paperwork would go.

I, too, may be interested in trading the "big Gurl" for a upscale 5th wheel camper or motorhome of equal value.

How does one handle the issues of taxes/fees/registration with a trade? Do you just say you "sold" each other your trailers for $1 or something like that?

In Indiana you pay the taxes based on thier book value of the trailer, unless you can proivde a recept proving cost paid. They only allow $1 trades from parent to child

I recently traded a fifth wheel trailer for our LQ trailer. I looked at regional postings on Craigslist and other websites. I called the owners of LQ trailers and asked if they would be interested in a trade. I was surprised how many folks where actually willing to trade their LQ for a fifth wheel. At one point we had three seperate parties intrested in a trade.

Living room has two slides so that it is about 12-14 feet by about 8-10 ft.  Two leather swivel rocker recliners.  Couch.  Berber carpet.  Desk.  Tv, cd player, surround sound, ceiling fan.  Storage.

We have a 2008 5th Wheel Sundance by Heartland trailer with 2 bathrooms we have hardly used and we would love to trade for a horse trailer with living quarters. The value of ours is about 21,700. We could pay the difference.
