My husband had someone helping him winterize my horse trailer and RV this past winter. So, first trip out with the trailer this year and I turned on the pump to run some water in the toilet. I could hear the pump running but no water! Tried the sink and same thing. So, is there some valve somewhere that he may have turned off to prevent it from pumping water??? Thanks!!!

As far as a valve some where that's shut off, yes that's possible. There's no standard plan for plumbing on all trailers so it's not likely anyone can tell you over the internet which valve to turn. Under the cabinet in my trailer there are five valves. Another possibility, is the water heater full? You will get very little if any water at the faucets until the water heater is filled. Does the pump run continuous once switched on? Then there maybe a valve is somewhere between the water tank and the pump that is turned off or the water heater is filling.

Hi...not trying to be funny, but make sure there is water in the tank and not draining out as you fill it. Then look between tank and pump for a valve. If the water is getting to the pump, the pump will shut off after 10 or 15 seconds. It may also be pumping to fill the hot water tank....takes a little longer. Any drain lines should also be closed as those allow the water to be drained from the system onto the ground. Let us know what you find.

Was the tank refilled with water? It takes a while to pump the air out of a system that was flushed the year before. It may take a minute or more before any water is moved. If your water heater tank was not by passed and drained separately, as was stated, you have to pump that volume of several gallons, before any water will be displayed at the faucet.

The pump will run continuously before any water exits the faucet. Once that happens and you have a good flow and pressure, the pump will cycle on and off. If it continues to run constantly, chances are a drain valve is open or a worse case scenario, a pipe has split during the winter.

Yes, filled the tank before I left. Will look for valves or leave pump running a bit to see if hot water tank is filling and also check it's valve. Thanks for all the ideas.

If hot water tank is filling with water, you should be able to tell because air will be coming out of the hot water side of the faucet.....

Thanks for all the advice! Turned out to be something simple. 'Someone' left the plug out of the hot water heater when they drained it and when I put it back in and turned the pump on, it filled then shut off as it should. We have water! Thanks again!!!
