YIKES!!! I only received one key when I bought my trailer with the equalizer jack. I guess I should have asked the dealer for more keys. I tried to get them duplicated but no go. So I call Equalizer to order 2 more keys. I see that for 2 keys that it's $40, didn't get told this in placing the order just see the charge to my CC!!!! Wow... I was told it was $8 a key but didn't realize that the shipping would be over $20. Any ideas what else I could do? I was hoping to get away with just an extra key to keep in the trailer. Thanks for any info.

Take the key you have to a key shop and have a duplicate made.

The OP said it couldn't be duplicated...why is that?

They want to make a large  profit on the sale. I was told the same thing about some antique cars and our 4 Star trailer. For $1.75 each, replacement keys were cut. Most shops that supply the RV industry maintain those kinds of key blanks. Our local hardware shop has had every key I've needed, whilst the big box stores only had the most recently sold home owners' supplies.

if your local store says he can not make it, find a real locksmith and I bet ya he will do it.

Thanks all, went to a big box store, they said they couldn't duplicate it, then went to a smaller store who did duplicate it by hand but it didn't work.... I will try a locksmith! Don't know why I didn't think of that.

I really appreciate you guys time!!

If you have a key that will fit in the slot, in many cases, a locksmith can recut the lock to fit a different key. This is a common practice on older cars and is not very expensive.

Personally, I took mine apart and straightwired around the key. I always had an issue with where were keys, and I've seen those that came from the factory without a switch. May not work for your needs, but I've loved it.
