Currently looking for a truck to pull our 2 horse bumper slant load bumper pull trailer. Trailer weight 3,200 empty. Hitch weight is around 800 pounds with one horse. The trailer box dimensions are 11 by 7 by 7. Total length of trailer is 16 feet.Considering purchase Ford 150 Eco boost Super Crew 4 by 4, wheelbase 145, Max Tow Package. Total payload should be around 1,900 pounds. We wanted the shortbed truck so that it will fit in the garage. As anyone on this board towed with this setup? If so, would you please share experiences? We want to ensure that we are not under trucked. Could purchase a 250 as an alternative but it would beast to drive around town.

Our daughter has a 2014 150 Eco boost. It has the max towing package and a short bed.

It has a lot of power and torque, easily handling both BP and our 2H gooseneck trailers. It has a very taught and composed ride, and very responsive to the throttle. With comfortable seating front and back, it's quite manageable for a family's long trips. It gets better mileage than the V-8 and has more torque to boot. A very nice, well appointed truck.

Gard,Do you know the specs on your daughter's vehicle? Box style, payload, and wheel base? We are finding out that are many types of configurations and capacity can vary significantly. Thanks!!!

We had a 2013 ext cab long box 4x4 with ecoboost. Handled 5 horses in a gooseneck stock trailer plumb fine. Plenty of go and whoa. Had the max tow package. Mileage pulling was 10-12 pulling above.

Absolutely loved it. Only reason we sold it was that I won a 3500 Dodge Diesel.
