Wound up not taking the horses, but had a great trip anyway. What an awesome place! I have been putting off a knee replacement for a couple of years now, so while trying to protect by bad knee, I managed to fall over something in the barn and tore a ligament in my good knee. Don't know which leg to limp on first! Anyway, with both legs compromised taking care of the horses would have been impossible. As spectacular as Alaska is, the lower 48 can be just as wonderful and much easier to get to. Driggs, Idaho and Duboise, Wyoming are two such places. Put them on your bucket list!
