My 2000 f250 has 199000 on the clock and the entire powertrain has performed perfectlt./ I do have the rusted out oil pan syndrome starting.Since the trans has to come out when the motor does, now seems like a good time for an upgrade. I know there are shops that build bullet proof trannies to use behind the 7,3 for towing Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one of these?

All depends on the money you wish to spend! Suncoast convertors and ATS are both great for "BUILT" transmission but the are HIGH! The weakest link in the 4R100 tranny is the convertor. FYI don't forget to change the flywheel when you have it apart, been there done that!

You can't just replace an oil pan in place in a FORD? http://oilpanrepair.com/?gclid=CJyz8dT4nMICFWNk7AodaWAASQ
