Hi folks. New member.I recently bought a 1991 Logan Coach gooseneck horse trailer. One of the sliding windows in the "sleeping" area (the over-bed part) has the sliding portion of the window broken out. I know it would be a pretty inexpensive fix to just take out the remaining good window and take it to an automotive glass place to have them use it as a pattern to make a new one, but, for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the slider from the good window without taking the whole window out. Anybody know how to do it?

On some frame models the glass is not replaceable. You will have to remove the frame to get the build numbers and call the distributor. I had one break and had to replace the entire window. Over $300.00 for a 20"×20".

Usually the whole window frame has to be removed, which in itself, is not a too difficult proposition. The glass can than be replaced with polycarbonate (Lexan, etc.), which is available in many thicknesses to match the original glass's dimensions. It can be worked and shaped by common wood working tools, and is far less expensive than a custom made glass panel. It is more durable than the glass and very resistant to scratching. Various sized pieces are available on line; just order a piece slightly larger than the glass you wish to replace. When you replace the frame and its seal, make sure the area is completely cleaned. Many types of sealants are available, the ones I favour are marine caulking / adhesives. House hold silicons are better replaced for this usage.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll have to pull out the old window, frame and all, regardless. Oh well. Better get to it.

I'm pretty sure you have to replace the window assembly.Call Logan and get a price on the replacement. I replaced one in my horse compartment.I also think the windows are made by Hehr Check their websitehttp://www.hehrwindows.net/
