Just bought a 1998 Hart 4h! But there are no bars when the windows drop down. I've seen other trailers with screens to keep the horses heads in. I believe the horse's heads should be kept in the trailer. I personally can't stand to see there heads hanging out while going down the road. I do want to be able to have some good airflow in the summer with the windows down. Can anyone recommend some screens? I've been searching and have seen the professional choice brand and the kensington brand. Added a link. Are they easy to install? TIA!http://www.statelinetack.com/item/professionals-choice-trailer-window-screen/SLT311611%20BLK/?srccode=GPSLT&gclid=CMaOsKS158MCFUlp7AodZ2sApQ&kwid=productads-plaid%5E82246367748-sku%5E87570-adType%5EPLA-device%5Ec-adid%5E40184736948

bars would probably be better, screens can rip and be pushed out. if I were you I would get barred window rings.

I have screens and love them. They are plenty sturdy for the sorts of horses I have, and they keep the horses heads IN and also keep road debris out, much better than bars. Air circulation is better great, too.

We have a Sundowner with no bars and we use the PC screens and have been great. Been on 4 years now with ZERO issue and at $17.00 to $20.00 each you cant beat the price!

We enjoy the usage of screens, and have never had a failure. Many come with four small brackets that are mounted to the inside of the window frame. They are available in many sizes, and are easy to install. Purchase the ones with zippers for the most utility. You are correct in not allowing the horses to extend their heads outside the trailer when moving. Bugs and debris can blind an animal at speed.

We like to put zippered screens over our drop down bars. That way, their eyes are protected and somebody's cigarette can't get sucked in.

I had the pc with the zippers but only lasted a couple of months. With the amount of dust that collect in the zipper part they start to rip apart....

Schneiders Saddlery has the zippered ones. I got mine from there and went with the non-zippered and they are nice. Just enough elastic to be able to hook and unhook the horse.

We have screens, but also had to add aluminum bars as our girl found she could push the screen hard enough to have the Velcro unhook. We added a grid of 1/2x1" aluminum bars to prevent it. Has worked well since then.
