I need recommendations for a shop in Missouri, preferably within an hour or so of St. Louis, that can block axles for a reasonable price. I've only found one shop that does it and they want $1000 plus the cost of the ramp I'll probably have to install.I will never buy another truck or trailer after I sort out this mess - and I still may just sell the whole setup, horses/tack/truck/trailer and walk away.

I found a trailer dealer outside town a ways that will do it for $450-$600(depending on if axles are bolted or welded). They've been in business for quite a while, so hopefully do a good job. Jim's Motors in Cuba in case anyone is curious. I've got a call in to the service department to make an appointment to take it out there.

You likely have Dexter axles. Look at the bracket that holds the square axle. If there are two bolts... it's bolted. If the bracket is welded to the trailer sub frame, then it has to be cut off and rewelded.

I talked with the manufacturer and they looked it up. Bolted to the trolley. Hart is first class to work with when you have questions. Very helpful and patient, and will look up any info you need on your trailer.

Why are you needing to block the axles? Have you checked out sinking your gooseneck hitch? *ie; cut out small area in bed

I would rather block the axles than cut out the bed. Trucks continue to get taller, so if for some reason I had to replace this one, blocking the trailer would allow it to be more likely to work with the replacement. Can you say I don't trust 87 year old men at red lights? (That's what hit and totaled my last truck, ran a red light he "couldn't see".)

I had my axles blocked at Jims Motors in Cuba Missouri two years ago. If I remember right it cost around $350.00. Great people to work with.I called around and got several quotes and all were much higher.

I dropped my trailer off yesterday at Jim's Motors in Cuba. They are going to do a 3" lift kit and don't think any other modifications will be needed. I did find out the truck hauls like a dream. I can't believe the difference between a 1997 and a 2015. Of course my old truck was 395 ft-lb of torque, and the new is 865 ft-lb.Thanks everyone for the suggestions, information, etc.

I am in the same situation....just going to get a different receiver for goose neck as it will give me about 4=5 more inches of adjustment. Good luck.
