I am looking at buying a 4 horse slant trail-et with a large dressing room. There is room to sleep and store things. Can anyone give me any advise good or bad on them. Seller says it is steel frame with aluminum skin. Are they usually built that way. I was thinking skin might be fiberglass. haven't seen it yet only pictures.

Many Trail-Ets were aluminum skin over a metal frame with a fiberglass roof. Because the frame is steel, be sure to check it carefully for rust issues. The biggest problem I have ever heard of with Trail-Ets is the plywood rotting out in the ramp and needing to be replaced. That is a pretty easy fix that can be done in an afternoon.

In our rustbelt section of the NE, Trailets aren't noted for their longevity. As was mentioned, their frames at the wall to floor junctions are susceptible to rust out. The various hardware and drop windows are light duty, the wiring and lighting are not the best quality. There are many better built trailers that will provide longer service with fewer repairs. Other brands will also have a better resale value with less deprecation.
