I like to keep my aluminum trailer floors clean but it is getting harder and harder to pull out those heavy 3/4" thick mats. I want to buy a one piece rubber mat about 1/2 -5/8" thick. It will need to be 8ft wide x 16 ft long. Would appreciate any help in finding a place to buy it. Thanks

I would think your best bet would be to contact a trailer manufacture or rubber mat manufacture. maybe QRRI, Nuera, REdneck Trailer supplies etc. shoot maybe even lowes or tractor supply could have some.

Rather than buy a huge one piece mat, which i don't think you are going to find one that wide. I think you would be better off with interlocking mats. they lock together and are much better than the non interlocking as far as not allowing stuff to get through, but you can still take them apart so they are manageable.

Congratulations on being one of the few that regularly clean your aluminum floor! I cannot believe the number of people that I know who think that an aluminum floor is maintenance free.

I believe that it would be better to coat your aluminum floor as described in the following horse trailer world link (one of the stickies at the top of the posts):

http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/forum/thread-view.asp?threadid=124...

By coating your floor, you will reduce your cleaning interval to perhaps a few times a season.

In my opinion, going to a single, one piece mat will likely increase your chance of corrosion as that big of a mat will be very difficult to remove and urine will still seep under the edges and result in aluminum floor corrosion if it is not regularly cleaned out.

I agree with a spray in liner type coating on your floor. If you found a mat that big how would you ever move it into and out of the trailer? It's about all I could do before I hurt my back to move a 3/4" 4'x6' stall mat.

Yes...I had LINEX dealer do the work...:) They removed the mats, cleaned and prepped the floor , did the spray job, AND then put the mats back in place...:)

my thoughts on cleaning the floor was to roll up the one piece mat and turn it sideways [right in the trailer], clean one side of the floor and roll it to the other side. Just center it up and unroll when finished cleaning. No lifting involved. I know I have seen an advertisement in one of the horse magazines that sold mats any size you wanted. Those big heavy rubber mats are killing me and I feel sure that the trailer would be cleaned more often if it wasn't such a back breaking job.

What about WERM? That replaces the rubber mats and totally seals your floor.
