I have a 2012 2h Hawk that I love but I'm considering getting a GN as my bumper pull can sway in the wind and I really don't like it. Do GN's have less sway? What can you recommend for 3 horses with a new F250 super duty?

GN trailers are much more stable than BP when being pulled, especially in cross or head winds. The towing truck is also more stable with the trailer's weight more evenly distributed on its suspension, than a BP weight completely behind the axle and frame. There are over 150 trailer manufacturers. Many of them produce 3H trailers that can be comfortably pulled by a 250 SD. You can purchase a 3H GN with a "weekender" LQ, whilst fully loaded, will not exceed your towing limits on the truck.

You don't state where you are from...but in the northeast...it is easier to resell a BP than a GN horse trailer...just something to ponder

I have always heard that once you go gooseneck, you never go back, and I for one find it to be true! A gooseneck is easier to back, hook up, pull... I know that I personally will never go back to a bumper pull!

I'm with cutter and wouldn't go back to a bumper pull. It's more stable, easier to turn and back up. Sometimes doesn't even feel like a trailer's behind you. If you have anyone you know with one, maybe they'd let you try pulling theirs a short distance to try it out. I once had a friend go with me using their trailer to an airport parking lot just to see what I'd think and it helped me to make my decision.

My new 3 horse slant gooseneck arrived this week. I haven't driven it yet so I'm looking for any and all tips and advice. I did a search here but couldn't find any previous posts on the subject.

Congratulations haffierider! I do not think you will regret it. If you have pulled a bumper pull before, you will already have the basics down for a gooseneck. Just remember that your turns will be wider and not directly follow the path of the truck tires. You can find a large parking lot and make tons of turns do you familiarize yourself with his the trailer tracks in relation to your truck. Funny story... A friend broke down about a month ago on the way to a vet clinic and needed someone to haul her horse and bumper pull trailer home. I picked them up but hadn't pulled a bumper pull since going to a gooseneck almost 20 years ago. It didn't take me long to remember why! A gooseneck is sooooo much easier!!!

I've pulled two horses in a BP for 300 miles and two/three horses in a GN for 40,000 miles.I've felt out of control on the road with the BP twice (Sway). Never with the GN.

I can say that in my windy state of OK you can have a gust of wind push you nearly off the road with a two horse bumperpull, I've never had that same issued with a GN.

You will be able to do a panic maneuver with a goose-neck and be able to keep control.
You will crash with a bumper pull with most panic maneuvers.
I will never go back to a bumper pull.
