ISO: Two horse, gooseneck trailer, straight load, extra wide/tall, with a dressing room.HOWEVER, there are hardly ever any out there that are exactly what I am looking for, or in my price range. However, I see three horse slants ALL. THE. TIME.Has anyone ever taken a slant load and had a dealer convert to a straight load? Or done it yourself? Are the supports as well anchored in after transition? Thanks!!

You need to look some more..... Or, settle for a stock trailer. I don't think you will be pleased with the results of tearing out a slant and making a straight. Probably won't be long enough anyway if you were to keep a dressing/tack area.

Aware of what is out there. Very specific in brand/construction/materials, so know what I am looking for (FWIW, only one out of the 162 prompted an in person visit, and that one had some structural issues).Hoping to hear from anyone that has actually had this done (either SL to Straight, or straight to slant.

Have done it before at a customer's insistence. When you get into moving walls, etc. one always seems to have a door or window that isn't in the right place- so it either hinders functionality, or simply looks funny. By the time you do everything right- such as moving doors and windows to their proper locations I'd think a trailer originally built that way would be a wiser investment.

Just curious ... Specifically what are you looking for in "brand/construction/materials" ?I've a 3 horse slant and have been well pleased... To the point of having it repaired for $$ instead of buying new.

I didn't convert ours for horse use but my wife and I converted a 3 horse slant to a straight wall. We framed up over the old escape door and put a 12 foot fridge there. After welding and everything it's as strong as a straight wall can be. The slant really adds to the torsional strength of these trailers. Here's a gallery showing some of the conversion. If you need more pics or have questions I'd be glad to help. I got good advice from here during the remodel. http://www.pbase.com/wray/exiss_xt308

What do you mean by converted? if you pull all of the dividers out of a 3 horse slant you can straight load 2 horses in there. but you loose most of the advantages of straight load trailer. I would think you would be better off buying a new trailer that is just what you want rather than spending thousands of dollars on trailer that will be impossible to sell. The local trailer shop G and F trailers builds and sells a trailer like that for about 12-16K, you could easily spend half of that just "converting" a trailer, and then you would loose all of the money you spend converting the trailer when you sell it.
