Has anyone used the Goose Neck Cushion Ball? I need to soften the effect of the rough roads around here and this seems like an affordable solution . http://shockerhitch.com/Cushion_Ball.php

From what I remember back when I was thinking about one all my research showed that they didn't 'travel' that much and although they would cushion the movements the effects would have been small in comparison to a cushioned hitch type unit. I ultimately skipped both the ball and hitch type units.

The Gooseneck ball uses a polyurethane bump cushion sandwiched between two steel plates. When the tongue weight of the trailer is added the polyurethane compresses....The question to ask the sellers is...How is the ball connected to the bottom portion?

I ordered the CC2 Pop Up Cushion hitch. I only found a couple of actual user reviews, I will post my review after I have made several trips with it. I wanted something that stayed on the trailer so I would not have to deal with something heavy in the bed of the truck. I did get some feedback from a user of the cushion ball. They thought it was good for lighter loads, but for an LQ, might want something a bit more heavy duty.

I have a cody cushion hitch. It makes a difference. Of course it's not air ride but definitely smooths out the ride a bit. Of course I only gave $400 for it.
