Comparing two trailers, both bumper pull. Pricing is equal on the two trailers. I have a 17hh Percheron, 17hh TB, and 15.3 QH/draft cross. Don't know that I would be hauling all three at the same time but it could happen. I do live in an area that seems to cause rust on steel even when parked! The 2015 Logan Riot is a 4 horse demo model that is steel framed with aluminum siding. It is Logan's top of the line bumper pull. It would come with the factory warranty as it has never been registered. The 4 Star Runabout is a 3 horse, all aluminum. I called a dealer to ask what the difference is between the Runabout line and their standard line and he mentioned the framing around the axels. I'm not very mechanical so I'm not sure if this would work with all three horses in it.Can anyone advise? Thanks for your help!

You want the extra height option on whatever trailer you decide to get with those horses...:)

Logan and Platinum coach both have warmblood trailers that are extra large.... IDK about four star, but I'm sure you can order 7'6" on about anything...

Could you safely haul all three in a BP without having tongue weight issues? I'm really gonna bite my tongue and not talk about GN trailers. I would not be putting a 4 horse BP behind anything less than a dual rear wheel vehicle as 4 horse BP trailers can have excessive tongue weight. The runabout is a light/medium duty trailer similar in quality to brands that have a "value" line of trailers. With all that weight I would not want less bracing, structure or axles. I have no personal experiences with the Logan Riot line so I can't offer anything good or bad. Questions for you: Can your horses fit in the slant stalls in either of these trailers with the dividers shut and ride comfortably? Your heaviest horse MUST ride over the axles or you'll be tongue light which can be VERY DANGEROUS. This means you can't put your draft in the last stall just because it's the biggest stall. There are ways around it with products like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTSEDTjylBo please watch around the 23 minute mark as Mr Truck talks about how wrong the trailer is loaded with the weight all the way in the back. You might look into the product he's demonstrating if you will be putting your draft in the last stall. Always stay in your truck tow rating, the tow rating for BP towing are much lower than the tow rating for 5th wheel/GN towing.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a great GN trailer that I was hauling with but hubby got a new truck and doesn't want to share for short, around town hauls. Bugger. So the proposed solution is pulling a bumper pull with our 3/4 ton diesel Suburban. Odds are I wouldn't be hauling all three horses at once unless it was a vet run, about 7 miles each way. The draft goes different places than the light horses but I would rather over buy than skimp and have a trailer that can't do EVERYTHING I might possibly ask. It seems like every trailer with steel is rusted around here so I was looking at all aluminum. I feel like I've researched almost every brand and there are negatives about all of them (some more than others!). Guess I'll be throwing these two out (for the reasons you presented) and continuing the search....

You might get by with an extra tall stock or stock/combo type trailer. If you had to haul all three just load and tie them up without any dividers.

The Riot is actually not Logan's top of the line. They don't take any structure out of that model but it will have smaller stalls than an Edge/Razor or XT/XTR. I agree with the other posters about needing 7'6" tall as well. Thad
