OK, so I got in the trailer last night to get some stuff. Well, I turned on the main light, the radio lights came on and made a funny noise, but no main light. So I shut the radio off and tried it again, same thing. So then I turned on the bathroom light, that turned on. So then I tried the main light again, the bathroom light dimmed and the radio did the same thing again! I turned it off, and the bathroom light went bright again! So I shut it all off and then checked the monitor. It said I had 3/4 of a battery. Then I turned the hood light on over the stove, that worked. What the heck is going on!!!!!

I'm not the best expert on this type of thing, but you might check/change the switch to the main light. Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Next I would check the main light itself, and possibly replace it. Can you tell if the bathroom and main light are on the same ckt? If not, you could turn off the ckt breaker for the main light, and try the bathroom, then turn off the ckt breaker for the bathroom and see what happen. Also see if you can figure out what ckt the radio is on. You could also disconnect the radio to see if the problem changes. These problems are so hard because you never get a electrial diagram with the trailer. Electrial problem ugh.. -Betty
PS: I had a strange electrial problem one time, and it turned out I had a light bulb that had burned the socket it was in. I took the light bulb and the problem went away. Had to replace the light fixture.

Well, now if I can only remember to look at all of that! LOL! The radio usually only comes on when it gets plugged into electric, and only the face of it comes on. Well this time, when I flipped the light on, the face of the radio turned on, and sounded like it was looking for a CD, but no light turned on. It was very strange! I hate trailers!

My guess is a almost dead battery. The higher amperage lights will be very dim while the lower amperage light will appear ok. You turn on another light and it will rob current from the other causing it to dim. 12V Electrical appliances will just be weird with low voltage. That is my guess...I would charge the battery and then check it out again...it won't cost anything to try!

The battery says that it is at 3/4 charge. The bathroom light comes on with no problem. So does the light above the stove. But the main light doesn't come on at all and it turns the radio on (face of it). Really strange! None of the rear lights come on at all, weather it be plugged in or not. Very strange! I think they just did a real CRAPPY job when they wired the whole trailer! I just found out that the wires for the heater and such, are speaker wires! HELLO!

Where would the ground be if it is not hooked to the truck? I know that it is grounded when it is hooked to the truck, the ball and hitch ground it I believe, but it is not hooked to the truck?

You should check the ground at the battery, Also they said 3/4 full or not it should be @ a 100% at all times for the correct performance.Hope this helps

ok, I will check out the wires at the battery. It was all working fine, until I took it in to the dealership and they fixed the heater. The battery sucks. Then I found out there is no converter in the trailer, so the only time the battery charges is if the truck is running down the road! Makes me so mad. You pay so much for this stuff and they short change you on everything, but charge you top dollar for it! JERKS! Thank you!

You can't look at it like a gas tank. A 1/2 full battery is dead......3/4 full is close to that. they are measuring volts as the volts drop so does the gage. 10volts is a dead battery not 3/4 full. But....it could be a ground......I would hook my truck up to it and let er run a bit then try the lights. If it still behaves the same then it isn't the battery...... then check grounds.
