This very nice Bee 2H Slant came in recently to be shown as a private sale. We thought it looked taller than the typical slant, but were still surprised to find that it’s a full 7’6†tall. The other pleasant surprise was stall size. The body width is 6’8â€, which is not uncommon, but the stall divider is nearly 8 feet long (compared to the 7.5’ we see on many slants). By our tape, the offset on the front stall is a generous 43†and on the rear it’s 37â€, so the stalls offer good width as well. (We took all measurements mentioned here. We were careful, but we’ll still include the old “all measurements approximate†disclaimer.)
Now that we’ve covered the room for your horses, let’s move on to features. This trailer is loaded. The stall divider telescopes and is padded. There’s a folding rear tack compartment (not used by the owner; the panels are visible on the floor in some pictures). There’s a drop feed window at the head of each stall, a wide escape door at the front stall and a pass door from the dressing room to the horse area (a feature we don’t often see on a bumper pull!). There are 2-way vents over the stalls and slider windows with stout guard bars on the butt wall, all contributing to good light and ventilation. There’s an aluminum running board on each side for the convenience of your horse handlers. The rear features two doors, each with its own cam bar latch and there’s a rubber bumper along the bottom for the safety of your horses as they load.
Up in the dressing room, there’s a lot to talk about. For starters, there are two Saddle Boss contoured saddle racks on a compact swing-out mount. The whole assembly may be relocated to the rear tack. A clever feature we don’t recall seeing before is a group of bridle hooks that may be relocated from the dressing room to the rear tack. In addition, there are 4 additional bridle hooks (2 at mid-height and 2 up high) that are permanently mounted in the dressing room. In the rear corner, there’s a shelf with clothing bar and brush tray. Next to those items is that pass door to the horse area we mentioned earlier. There are two fixed windows up front and a lockable door with large window and screen door. The trailer is also equipped with two folding blanket bars (but those are on one of the rear doors for use with the rear tack).
This one features a steel frame and galvannealed skin. (Borrowing a bit from Bee’s website, galvanneal is steel that’s been hot-dipped in molten zinc and then heated to create a zinc-iron alloy. In plain language, galvanneal is steel that offers excellent corrosion resistance, even when it’s not painted.) Other desirable features include smooth-riding torsion axles, brakes on all wheels and fresh 225/75R15 radial tires (date-stamped late 2013!).
