Just bought a new 3 horse trailer with a midtack and rear tack.  The LQ, Midtack, and Escape door are all on the same side of the trailers.  The ties for the horses are on the opposite side which I have noticed on many trailers I looked at.  We go to open shows, 4h shows, rodeos, and barrel runs so we spend some time with the horses tied to the trailer.  I prefer to have them on the same side of the trailer that we are on so I know what they are doing.  If you tie to your trailer which side do you tie to?

Given a choice, I tie to the left side of the trailer, because my LQ door and awning are on the right. I also have a midtack, but with doors on both sides and can mount the saddle rack on either side or in the rear tack. I have my trailer set up to work from the left side of the midtack to keep horses away from the awning. My trailer came with tie rings on both sides, and depending on the parking situation, will use either side.

I also have the LQ and MT but I also have tie rings on both sides of the trailer ( my lq and mt doors on the the Driver side) I can tie both horses on the same side as the doors. I have tied horses on the opposite side when i need too and they have done alright there. However I prefer to tie them to the LQ door side...

My 3H had 2 ties on each side of the trailer. I had 2 more added to each side to assure I could tie all horses on either side depending upon parking. Sometimes the sun will dictate which side I tie on, or how someone has parked next to me, etc.
