We are considering purchasing an older 1995 Gore trailer. Unfortunately we noticed the trailer has old passenger tires on it. We want to get new tires for it but are not exactly sure which tires would fit. We are considering getting a LT type. The tires that are on it now are 215/75/15

I have to disagree, on a 15 inch wheel for a trailer you need ST or trailer tires. If it where me i would upgrade to a 16 inch rim and run an LT tire. My experience is that 16 inch LT tires are the same or better than ST tires. Almost all trailer tires now are made in China and are just junk. but LT tires that are 15 are just not made to handle any weight/heat. jmhoNick

15" and 16" tires of a specific rating are made to the same standards. Unfortunately there are fewer 15" LT tires being made by American companies and can be difficult to find. Almost all of the 15" ST tires are Asian sourced.
Many trailers can be ordered with upgraded axles and 16" tires, making quality tire replacements much easier.
