I am planning on buying a new 3 horse trailer with living quarters and am looking for advice on which one to get.  At this point, I'm trying to decide between the 2012 Exiss 3 horse living quarter model 7308 LQ and the Sundowner 6906 Horizon 3 horse.  Any body have any experience or suggestions for me?  Would really appreciate any help!  Thanks!

I recently purchased a 3H slant with an 8' LQ. I've never owned an exiss but brand aside, I am very happy I went with the 7'6" width and 7'6" height. The LQ is roomy and I can sit up in bed to watch TV or read. The back is nice and wide for loading. Depending on the size of your horses and intended use, I would opt for the wider/taller trailer in similar-quality trailers. Mangers in less than an 8' wide trailer to me were a deal breaker. Not enough room for the horses to move their feet. The new exiss trailers looked nice, there just weren't any around me to look at so we went with Sundowner since I found one ready-made to my exact specifications. We are thrilled with our new trailer, going on our first "big" camping trip next week. Good luck.

Geeze, you know,it seems that it's always a thread about "Exiss or--(fill in the blank.) I hardly ever see "Bloomer or Hart?" "Four Star or Cimmaron"? Or so on.Seems it's always an "exiss or a something else."

We have an Exiss Event, and,we just love ours dearly,no kidding. It's been a GREAT trailer for us.

Yep- Glad I bought my Exiss. I didn't go out trying to find one but it turned out to be a nice rig. Its now 12 yrs old and its been holding up very well. Its not about the make as much as its about which trailer fits your needs and wants plus fits into your budget. You already know which on you want so its your money buy the one you really like better...

I think both trailers are just fine. Buy the one that fits your budget the best. I def would not go without a fridge or toilet and shower. I can do without all the other stuff.

Look carefully at the construction of each, especially the door hinges, door panels, interior surfaces, and the load ratings of the axles and tire sizes. If you directly compare them one on one, you'll be able to determine which one to choose.

Similar LQs can be installed in almost any brand of trailer. It's the mechanical structure that will provide reliability and durability.

As far as usage, we own a  1997 Sundowner and an 2001 Exiss Event.  LQ packages are done by a lot of different outfits, by subcontract or by factory.  Taking LQ out of the picture, as far as structure etc holding up, both our trailer are serving us well, not a great comparison as they are very different trailers, one is steel and no LQ, and the other aluminum with full LQ..... I would consider what Gard said, on any trailer by anyone, as we all know, even a top flight outfit can have a bad day... and what suits your needs, budget, and "likes" is your business...let that guide you as well.....

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm sure most of our membership dislikes confrontation and flaming. Fortunately this has dramatically lessened in the recent past, with the forum being even more informational and interesting, with the inclusion of many new members.

We are fortunate indeed, to have such an eclectic base of knowledge and experiences from which to choose. We have many core members that can answer most any question, and are willing to share their knowledge.

Many people work hard at continually providing relevant advice. We are quite fortunate, to be able to share in their efforts and experiences.
