I always come here first for opinions. :)
I am looking for a small 2 or 3H bumper pull to use for local barrel races. Something that's easy to get in and out of a parking lot. I'm open to recommendations.
Lots of people I know have the Calico trailers. They seem solid enough. But I also know of Delta, S&H, WW and Titan.
As these are all steel, I know rusting is an issue - are any of these better than the others? Also...wood floors. I know trailers had wood floors for YEARS...as long as I take care of them, is there any reason they aren't perfectly fine for what I need?
I also have a friend who has an Eclipse. Seems *okay* but they have had several issues with repairs - so unless others have had better experiences, not sure I'd have that on my short list. Again, would welcome your feedback!
So, opinions and suggestions are welcomed!
I'm in West Tennessee so there are some trailers we just don't see a lot of around here...

I had a three horse WW bumper pull and hated it.My friend has a two horse WW side by side and it has gone downhill in just a year. I Just bought a 2012 Calico gooeneck and love how it pulls and handles, lightweight, not the best made, steel, but sure suits my purpose.

just my opinion, but if you can find an older aluminum trailer it will probably hold better than the steel ones. I have a 17 yr old Hart 2 H BP, put lots of miles on it and have absolutely no problems.

X2 on that suggestion. Wouldn't be afraid of a small 12'-14' stock trailer either, with or without a DR.
Pictured below... 2003 WW, all aluminum stock with center gate, 6'6" high, 6' wide, 16' long, weighs 2200#.... Haul the horses, a cow or three, the goats, a small tractor, mower, atv/utv, maybe help your bad neighbors move away to another state, etc. Listed asking price is $6850.00... Not my trailer.

I would sure encourage you to look at Hart 2H BP trailers. We couldn't be happier with ours. They are outstanding trailers made by an outstanding company.

We just picked up a '99 Featherlite 16' stock trailer as a runaround. It's an all aluminum gooseneck that was in like new condition with 5 new tires on it for $6500. We couldn't find a new steel bumper pull for that price. It worked out well because I'd rather pull a gooseneck anyway!
We looked on here and Craig's List regularly and found it on here.

I have a Calico 2000 2 horse slant and they are pretty junky. Paint is totally faded, rusting, cheap welds some sharp edges. Got it used cheap for short hauls and it is what it is. For the little I use it it is ok, but for a main trailer I would stay away from a Calico.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am going to look for a aluminum if I can find one reasonably priced, even if older. I know someone said stay away from a WW, but what about a WW aluminum? A local place here has an '07...

I had a 2010 Calico 2h slant tag along, I loved that little thing, I hauled it up to nebraska twice, down to waco twice, and everwhere here in oklahoma. I bought it bran new with the sticker $4,900. I just traded it in for a 2013 calico 3h GN. The dealership gave me 3k for my 2h couldnt believe it held its value that well. I know back in the day Calico had trouble with their paint and they will be the first to tell you that, but the new ones are painted with valspar and come with the paint code. I would really look into them. I hope this helps

Huskerville26 - did you have the open sided one or with drop down windows? I'm asking to see if you had any issues with the drop down windows.... Thanks. I've got several friends that have the newer Calicos. They aren't fancy, but they seem to do the job. I'm just torn so it's nice to hear a good report about the newer ones. And I would be looking at the newer ones if I went that way....

I just figured I'd update everyone... :) I did wind up buying a BP 2H Calico, 2013 model with the drop down windows. Yes it's steel, but I have gotta tell you - I love that dang little trailer! My other trailer is nearly 37' long and can be a challenge to haul around for a quick trip. Honestly, I've had the Calico for about 6 weeks now and I've already used it 10 or more times. Hauls really well (for a BP), horses seem quite happy in it (not their luxury accommodations...the spoiled things...but perfectly fine...lol). I did buy the extra wide and tall with mats, seems to have a little more room, but I'm pretty pleased. In fact, I'd venture to say I love the little thing :) I intend to get some touch up paint and I (don't laugh) wrapped my tie rings in Gorilla tape so they won't nick the paint. I figure with some care and proactive touching-up as needed, it outta last a good while. Thanks for everyone's opinions. Robin
