Planning to purchase a LQ trailer with 10' - 11' LQ. Unfortunately there isn't much on the market that is two or three years old so looking at new.We are focusing on Elite and Platinum. Any suggestions, comments or thoughts? Do you have either? It's a BIG purchase. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

from my research you cannot go wrong with Elite. better built quality and resale. own 4 star- looked at Elite but in the model we purchased the Elite was overpriced (for that model)

If you can tell the difference engineering or otherwise, just let us know. But I do know, that if go to a large pro rodeo, team roping, or barrel race, which are the primary events in this area, 50% or more are either Elite, Platinum or C&C which are full siblings.

I have had both brands of trailers. The Platinum I had the mangers and windows leaked, because they did not seal very good. It was not a bad trailer, just not near the quality my Elite is now. The resale on my Platinum was not as good as I had hoped. One thing to really think about on your living quarters is don't get one that is done by a "backyard" company in my opinion. That probably hurt the resale on my Platinum because it didn't have a high end/quality conversion.

I think both are very comparable. Have been around both a lot and really, not much difference. Elite seems to have better resale. If both trailers have identical features, I would take the cheaper priced one.

Both seem to have good resale value. The construction quality and uniformity on the Elite is higher and more consistent. I believe that if you talk to folks who get serious about repairing and installing living quarters in them you'll find the Elite is generally a very square & plumb trailer where the others may not be to that high of a standard. In this particular situation where they are built in the same town- I'd say a day spent in OKC with a tour of each facility will answer your question very, very quickly. Just my 2 cents.

As mentioned earlier, talk to the people that work on the trailers. When I was looking for a truck, I started talking to different customers that are all mechanics and what trucks to avoid and they narrowed down for me even what years to best look for. Most had the same opinions about the specific problems and the good trucks. If you have an opportunity, just start looking through the used trailers on how well they've held up and that helped me when looking to buy a horse trailer. After seeing a few, I knew what trailers I wouldn't be buying. I would also think about how long do I plan to keep the trailer. If I plan to keep it for a long time, I would lean towards towards the cheaper trailer if the quality and features are the same. If you're not planning on selling anytime soon, resale won't be as much of an issue. If you maintain your trailer well over the years, it'll hold value and people are always looking for a good used trailer and one in good shape will sell itself.
