what is supposed to keep the freezer compartment door closed on these? there is no latch,just a gasket and the compartment door falls open when you open the refer door,then you have to reach in there and hold it closed while you slam the refer door to keep it from jamming up.There is no parts list or reference to the freezer door in my manual either.

There are springs built into the hinges. Easily replaceable. I have seen them on Ebay and I am sure your local rv store can find them
