I didn't ride from there but I did go look at the place. The road is crooked and long but with patience is OK. The camp area is simple. The trails should be pretty good based on what we have seen in the general area.

We were there last fall. We have a 42 ft trailer and went in from hwy 16. We were told it was the better route and it was. Loved the riding out of there. CTR how long of a trailer do you have? There is a bridge to cross coming in from seven on Victor RO. If you decide to come in from 16 take the first road to the right. We missed it and used the other turn off and it was tight with our trailer. Owner is very nice. Make sure you request one pen per horse. Pens are small and not big enough for two horses or you can high line.

My trailer is only 24 foot., but some of the other folks going with me have larger rigs. One is a Motor home pulling a 3 horse bumper pull. Can you tell me how you went from 16? Thanks!

We took Hwy 7 south from Harrison. we took 16 east. when you see the falling waters horse camp sign on the left then you will go four or five miles and you will see the sign on the right. it is hard to see and the name of the road is on a white post. it is on top of a hill. make a right and make a right on the first gravel road you see. this will take you to camp. if you miss the first right, right past it is a another turn off to the same road but it is hard if you have a long trailer. After you turn right you will go about a mile or two and camp is on the right. It sets behind a two long buildings.

anyone who takes highway 7 to or from Harrison with a trailer behind them sure has my respect!

Can anyone give a recent (like 2014 maybe) review on Cowboy Up Camp, Falling Waters Camp, and Caney Mountain Camp, the roads, and current websites. Is everything online up to date as far as website? The Falling Waters site had all the info but then said it was moving to a new server (2009) and I could not find a new server. Interested in trying out these places but would like some newer info. Thanks

I went a couple of years ago to look at Cowboy Up Camp. The camp was simple but not bad. We didn't ride from there but have ridden many times from Falling Waters. We are planning a trip next month to Falling Waters. Joe's phone number is 1-870-294-5051. We really like this place. We went last month to Caney Mountain. The last seven miles are tight but worth the trip. The trails are great and the camp owners Charles and Theresa are great. The neighbors are great also. We are planning a return trip there. I would recommend Falling Waters or Caney Mountain to any serious riders. Happy Trails

I went to Caney Mountain in May 2014.....the long one way road into the camp (seems like it takes forever) is sort of slow going. However once you get there the camp is really nice. The camp owners are wonderful and serve breakfast and supper if you care to partake and the food is really good. They have pens for your horses, showers and laundry facilities. This camp is so remote that there is no electricity. It is generator or solar. The trails are beautiful but be prepared.....there is a LOT OF ROCK. We spent a whole week there and loved it. There is also a farrier on site. Enjoy. They have a great web site....just pull up Caney Mountain Horse Camp.
