Wanted to get opinions on types of ceilings to use in the living quarters. I want to go with the vinyl/faux tin look. Anyone have experience with them. Good? Bad?

We used the plastic replications of the copper panels in our home. They were glued to rigid plywood panels and then mechanically affixed into a coffered ceiling layout. Available is several finishes, they can exactly replicate the copper materials at less than half the metals' prices. They were glued to the plywood with urethane construction adhesive, and have remained secure for the last several years. The panels are available in various sizes and patterns from several suppliers found on the internet. We are very pleased with the results.

Awesome! Thanks gard! Another question I have is my trailer is already insulated and with aluminum sheets screwed in. I want to put plyboard up then cover it with some kind of pretty vinyl kinda like what you see in a lot of the trailers. My question is should I take those aluminum sheets down or can I attach my stripping directly to them before applying my plyboard? And should I use vinyl wallpaper or is there something better out there?

You can screw to the interior panels, being careful that the screws' lengths will not touch the exterior surface. Also use stainless hardware and Not steel screws. Affixing the panels to the wall studs will provide the most strength.

I recently put faux tin on my trailer ceiling. I ordered on the 'net, because the stuff from Lowes/HomeDepot is so expensive. What I got is a thinner gauge and bigger sheets. I glued and nailed it up with panel nails. Not totally happy with the end result, but with a little more work...I just burned out on it...it will be fine.
