Well this is true...Fueleconomy.gov, a site run by the federal government, advises that vehicles running on the most common form of ethanol-blended fuel, E10 (which contains 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline), will typically get “3 percent to 4 percent fewer miles per gallon” than they would if they were running on pure gasoline. That mileage penalty — in essence, a tax — must be paid at the pump through the purchase of additional fuel.

That fuel damn near wiped out the snow mobile, outboard boat and utility vehicle markets, along with generators and other small motors that were not specifically designed for this fuel. In my part of PA, there are few ethanol free dealers available. In upstate NY where snow mobilers and marine usage is common, there are many dealers selling the unadulterated fuel. I had to rebuild the carbs on my chain saw and grass trimmer, after using the ethanol fuel for one year without the supplements. The extra water and fuel is very corrosive to the aluminum products and seals of engines. Less power, higher costs, higher food costs; too many negatives. Good farm lobby though.

http://e85.whipnet.net/ethanol.faq/topten.myths.htmlyes, we use non ethanol fuel for our small motors. We lose .42 in gas milage. Ethanol does not take food off the shelves or waste the corn plant. The by product called distillers is highly sought after to feed to cattle. Look and see what small percentage of corn is actually in a box of corn flakes. There is a lot of misinformation out there. See what works for you to use it or not.

That E85 site smacks of pure corporate ADVERTISING...no authors names anywhere, and NO ONE SEEMS to take any credit for the site...
