Just bought my first LQ Trailer and haven't used it yet. Wondering if it's necessary/advisable to use any deodorizer in the horse compartment? If so, any recommendations? It may be overkill, but having seen ads for the product it raised a question in my mind.

I guess it is all to how it is sealed between the LQ and the rear but in 30 years as an LQ owner we have never had odors but we do clean it out once in a while. Shavings in the horse compartment will soak urine and make it easier to keep it clean.

Never knew anyone that needed to use a product like that. I would advise using shavings under the horses and cleaning the waste out as best you can with a poop fork at every chance you get.

When we go camping we take 5 dogs. I use shavings and when we get to where we are going I clean out the back for the dogs. I keep the walk thru door open so they have the run of the trailer and so far have had no odor problems from the back coming to the LQ area. So I myself wouldn't waste my money on the product.
