I am looking at a 1997 Hart Encore 3 horse gooseneck model. I have not seen it yet due to distance. The ownner says it has an aluminum roof (with an areo fiberglass nose), floor and frame. He said it has fiberglass side panels. Does anyone know of any problem this would create or have any real problems shown up on these? Thanks, Paul

That model would have a fiberglass roof of similar material as the walls. It is a one piece roof, very strong, self insulating. The Encore material is light weight and also self insulating. My son has a four horse with a mid tack and a 10' living area. It has had hard use and had held up quote well.

Check the sides to make sure the fiberglass is fully intact. If water gets through the fiberglass to the plywood it will cause expansion and rot. I'm not a fan of FRP trailers because of this.

The interior of Encore is a hard foam material. It looks like dried bread. It is not plywood. You are correct that the plywood cored FRP was sometimes a problem, and it was also heavy.
