Hello. I am currently looking at a used 1996 Sundowner w/ LQ and was hoping to get some opinions. It is all steel and has everything I've been looking for in the LQ part (bed, refrigerator, heat and a/c, shower, storage). I haven't seen it in person, just in pictures. They say there's no rust and that's my main concern. Also, they're asking $8,000 for it. Does this seem like a fair price for this trailer especially for its age? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I sold my 95 Sundowner 3 horse steel w/LQ last year for $11K. And I had people waiting in line to look at it. Sounds like a great price if it's in good shape. Mine had no rust, either. They had that really good undercoating on them and there was places that the paint was chipped off, but the undercoat was still there and no rust. Mine was the Executive model.

Thanks, it seems like a good deal! They said the weight is 5,000 lbs does that seem about right? I will be pulling it with a Chevy 2500 diesel so I think I have enough truck.

Mine was at least 10K lbs. It had a 12' LQ with mudroom, fridge/freezer, dinette and bathroom. I pulled it with a 2400 Chevy crew cab dually. If this one is in fact only 5K lbs, your truck should handle it fine. It must have a smaller LQ than mine did. I weighed my whole rig one time and I think it was around 19K.
