Just got an older ramp load trailer that I'd like to do some welding on and paint. It needs a little work. The rear latches for the ramp are busted up. Not sure I understand how they were originally. The girls explaination wasn't helpful and a ratchet strap will JUST NOT DO. So those of you with all steel older horse trailers, please show me your ramp latches and how your trailers ramp lock up.I dont know the make and model of this trailer. It appears they re applied for a title and somewhere the brand name got lost. Thank you in advance :)

Actually there are no trailer dealers nearby. The nearest one is a couple hours away. I managed to somehow figure out the brand name of my trailer. A previous owner down the line somewhere lost the paperwork and they had to obtain a new title. So it simply says home made trailer. Which it is not. The trailer is a Hartman. I've been able to find latches on google on other trailers and a few Hartman owners I found on facebook were nice enough to take a few photos for me. Thank you for the responses. Now to find out more about Hartman trailers

Thank you for the pic ellis36. It's not a Trailet, it's a Hartman. What is there doesnt look anything like that. There's some sort of bolt assembly. Since this post, I was able to actually find several people who had hartman trailers and they were able to get me some very good photos of their ramp latch assemblies. I think I'm going to try to figure out a way to modify and add something less questionable for holding the ramp up ... hopefully. The previous owner used simple hasps which scared me pretty bad.
