Hi all so somthing I've not thought much about but should carry, I'm wanting a good floor jack to keep in the tack room to change a tire and to level the trailer. I'm pretty sure that a bottle jack won't fit under the axles so that's why I'm thinking floor jack. . What do you guys pack? Very floor jack on amazon and northern tool are only 2 ton jacks and the others cost thousands.

I carry a bottle jack from Harbor Freght, but you are not supposed to jack under the torsion bar axles.I carry some wood with 45 degree angles cut on the ends to if one tire is flat you can pull the other tire up on the 4x6 and the other tire is lifted in the air. i use it to block the wheels when the trailer is parked.Terry

I don't recommend a jack for tire changing on a horse trailer unless it's empty. More likely, you'll need to change a tire with horses aboard. It is very dangerous to use a jack with horses aboard. they can move around and cause the trailer to fall off the jack. Yet it is also dangerous to unload the horses on the side of a road with traffic whizzing by. Use a trailer-aid or some sort of ramp to lift the trailer on the good tire. Remember to loosen the lug nuts first ...when the trailer is on the ground and holding the flat tire from spinning.
