Subject: Elite LQ

Recently purchased an Elite LQ trailer w/midtack... The midtack has the gas tank for the generator. There is an overwhelming gasoline smell in the mid tack that drifts to the front & back as well. What can we do to prevent this smell, aside from keeping the gas tank full??

Sounds like it needs inspected for a fuel leak.

is your generator in the trailer or on the roof??  ours is on the hay pod and I do not have any problems fueling, can you move your gas tank up there? your fumes are probably coming from the vent and I do not  know how you can get away from that as the tank has to have a vent.

Tank should vent to the outside through the wall. If it doesn't, you need to modify it so it does. There should be no fumes at all in your cabin. There are many tanks mounted in horse compartments and such that have a vent line running to the outside.
