I'm in the market for a new or used 2 h bp with rear and side ramps.  Given my research so far, it looks like the side ramp is a relatively new feature for 2 h bp's.

Can anyone share their feedback on this type of trailer?

Thanks in advance

Yes; two of our manufacturers both do a very nice fit and finished side ramp straight load bumper pull.  Sundowner and Hawk both build this type of trailer.  The Sundowner is an aluminum framed trailer (2008 built); and the Hawk is an aluminum skinned/steel framed trailer.  Two different price points; but the fit and finish is very good on both products.

I really don't need a dressing room.  Bridle hooks and a saddle holder in the nose will suffice.  I checked out the website you refer to and I like the Featherlite horsemodel 9530.  I've made my inquiry on the website.  Thanks!

JimBob, what are the two pricing points you mention on the Hawk and Sundowner and why the difference?  Thanks.

thanks, Equiteacher, but I'm not a fan of slant loads.

Me either for "traditional" ones, but LOVE the reverse load. Turnbow makes a straight load with front ramps.

The Hawk product is going to be in the $12,750 area, and the Sundowner will be nearer the $18,500 area.  These are MSRP's; and the differencce is an all aluminum trailer with aluminum floor and roof compared to an aluminum skinned/steel framed trailer with a treated wood floor (rumber floor optional)and a fiberglass roof.  Both trailers are equal in fit and finish.

Other straight load BPs with side ramp options are Trail-et New Yorker and Equispirit. Both are comparable to the Hawk in construction. Haven't looked closely at the fit-finish on the Equispirit, but the Trail-ets are every bit as nice as the Hawks, IMO. Probably comparable in price, too. Being you are up north you may fare better with all aluminum if you haul much in winter time where they salt the roads a lot.

I think the side ramp option is a really nice feature. I would be glad to own any of those mentioned so far.
