We just bought a new living quarters trailer. It is a 4 horse featherlite. It is small - just a 61/2 ft. short wall but it has everything we need in it. We have a shower, seperate toilet, frig., microwave and two gas burners. We love it but since we have never owned one I am feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to learn to use everything. It is winterized now because we do still have freezing temps at night but right now my main problem is trying to figure out the frig. It says it is a 3 way. I understand what that means but on mine because it is small I can't find any place to switch from gas, to battery to electric. It is working on gas right now. I only know this because the refrigerator has been cold since we brought the trailer home a month ago and now one of my tanks is empty. Is the only way to stop this is to turn the gas off. That is what I have done. Thanks for any replies.

What brand and model is it? Should have a switch that says mode or something like that on the front.... then you just push it to what you want, ac, dc, lp, or automatic.

it may auto select on it's own. the fridge in my RV does that. you may want to find out what model your fridge is and see if you can find an owner's manual. enjoy your new home away from home!

Thanks.  I got a DVD and an owner's manual with everything in it but on the DVD the trailers are bigger and have more upgrades than mine and they do show the selector button but mine does not have one.  Maybe it does select it automatically.  I can call the guy I bought it from but I was hoping I wouldn't have to.   I am going to watch the DVD again tonight and read thru the manual again and see if I can figure out which frig I have.

Plug the trailer in to 110v outlet, and shut off the gas.  If the frig gets cold, it is switching automatically...

You should be able to go on line to the fridge's manufacturer's web site and obtain a copy of the owner's manual. If that is unavailable, by posting the name and model number on this forum, you might be able to obtain a copy from another owner who is willing to share it.

My fridge has 3 pictures on the far right dial - one is an electric plug, the other a flame, and the last one at the bottom is for off.  Turn the fridge to off and turn your propane tanks off.  Turning back on is more complicated, so be sure to get a manual.

Thanks for all your help guys.   I found the model #.  It is a 323TR and the maker is NORCOLD.   I do have a manual.  The manual says "The refrigerator control panel is located on the rear of the refrigerator."  WHAT???   How am I suppose to use it if it is on the rear of the refrigerator?   I went to their website and it says, on the page where there is a picture of my frige:  Easy to operate manual controls readily accessible through lower vent , with Piezo gas ignition.  When I got to the barn this morning, I went in to look at it again.   There is a vent at the bottom of the regrigerator but it is held on with two screws and I didn't have a screwdriver with me and was too cold to go back and get one.  Maybe when I take it off I will find what I have been looking for.  I am still confused though because I know heat also comes out that vent.   Oh well, it is a learning process and I am sure I am making it way more complicated than it is but I hate not knowing how to do something.   Thanks Again.

Check the outside of your trailer for an access pannel.  My friend has a dometic frig that has the gas/auto switch on the back of the frig and that is how she gets to it.  She can put it on gas only or auto which will choose elect first if its available.
