Since I travel alone quite often, several years ago I joined USRider. I never needed it till.....

A couple of weeks ago I broke down along a busy interstate over 100 miles from home after a great camping trip. I was in a "dead zone" but managed a call to USRider. I luckily also got a call through to 911, and a trooper soon arrived and stayed with me till the tow trucks came. Had to get the truck and trailer towed separately. My new young horse did great and kept calm throughout the ordeal.

Yesterday I received a check that fully covered my towing charge. I'd heard good things about USRider, and now I know from personal experience that it's well worth the money and peace of mind. Hoping I'll never need it again though!

Awesome. This is my first year with US Rider after many years without. At least I know I can get a call out to someone! K88

That is great! But I have a question, we had a trailer flat a few years back while in tow. We called a local towing company and they came out on the side of the highway to change our tire. It cost $100 up front and our insurance company reimbursed us for the full amount. They also cover towing. Why would USRider be a necessity? Because I have thought about adding it for extra.

I like the idea of calling one number and being able to find a Vet, tow truck, stable, etc. if needed. It's a security blanket for unfamiliar areas. I guess if you have a smart phone you can look up everything you need but I'm still using my "dumb phone". http://www.usrider.org/benefits.html

They provide emergency services for you and the horse as Charmer stated. I made three calls to USRider but the call got dropped each time due to being in a dead zone. Fortunately, I had better luck with my call to 911 and was able to stay on the phone long enough to provide my location. If I'd have turned in my charges to my auto plan, I'd have only been reimbursed $50. My bill was right under $250. If I'd have needed a vet or stabling, USRider would have helped me there, too.

It's worth looking into the benefits. As long as I travel with horses, I will be a member. Great plan.

IF your rig needs to be towed, many companies will not tow your trailer. They will take your truck and leave your horse and trailer on the road. I have not needed the towing, but have used US Rider for flats and they are very professional. I would not be without it.

I haul with a dually and US Rider is the only roadside service that will touch a dually truck. Also love that they help with anything you need for your horse, they cover you no matter in what or whose vehicle you are traveling.
