I have 3 Trailer Eyes II cameras (GN, BP and for hitching). I really like the system and have even gone to using RAM mounts instead of the included mounts as the RAM mounts are more secure. I have a problem though. I had been using the 9 volt power system without any problems. However, I decided to hardwire the camera into Auxiliary light circuit of my Exiss 2003 XT310MT and when I turn on the camera, it blows the camera's inline fuse (tried both 1 amp and 2 amp). I am powering the line from my 2012 F350. Any ideas? The ground from the camera's switch is a chassis ground.Thanks,Steve

OOPS!
You said the power supply was 9 volts... your rig voltage is 12 Volts! No way is the electronics gonna accept that! You can or already did cook the camera! :(
You either have to splice in a 9volt regulator chip or go back to the original system 9 volt and 12 volt electronics are NOT compatible :(

It comes with 3 different power systems. One that is adapted to take power from a 9 volt battery, a hard wire option from the vehicle's 12 volt aux system a 110 volt AC adapter option to use in the barn.

The manual just says hardwire to lighting system once you know where you want it. Comes with a 1 amp fuse but mfr said you can use up to 3 amp. Ill have an elec contractor friend check my wiring.

Check your 12v adapter and see if the + and - are reversed. I have one of these systems and switch between 9v and 12v adapters depending on which trailer it is in.
